Emerging UK-based singer/songwriter Shakka recently released his latest body of work, an 11-track conceptual mixtape (excluding the skits) titled The Shakka Crown Affair which sees him “borrow” beats and instrumentals from the likes of Lil Wayne, J.Dilla, Coldplay, Jay-Z and Calvin Harris amongst others and offer his own interpretations and “remixes” to these originals. Shakka was one of the acts supporting Jesse Boykins III when his European tour brought him to London a few weeks ago. In true Shakka style, he breaksdowns the various influences on his sound, the concept behind his forthcoming project The Shakka Crown Affair, what he’s listening to right now and more!
