The move will place the Google-owned video site in competition with  Ustream, the video service that lets anyone with a webcam stream live,  and which has been used by a number of bands and labels as a marketing  tool.
Although it will not be the first  time You Tube as done live streaming, it has previously been restricted  to live events. However, now the organisation is increasing the amount  of live streaming content they provide through partnerships with  professional media outlets - this week in the US with Howcast, Next New  Networks, Rocketboom and Young Hollywood. 
With more partnerships  set to be announced as the month continues, insiders say the eventual  aim will be to open the live streaming option out to the public.
